Ms. Lane Weinbaum is the founder and president of the law offices of Weinbaum P.A.  Ms. Weinbaum has been a licensed attorney for over 18 years. In  2010, Ms. Weinbaum took her passion for the law and her love of research, writing and breaking apart cases, and formed the law offices of Weinbaum P.A. 

Ms. Weinbaum’s Appellate Experience

Ms. Weinbaum is a former Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Appeals Division. In her capacity as an Assistant Attorney General, she adeptly navigated criminal and juvenile appeals before both the Third District Court of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court. She also effectively handled federal habeas corpus matters within the United States Southern District Court Southern District of Florida.

After successfully handling appellate matters for the Attorney General’s Office, Ms. Weinbaum embarked on a new chapter in her career by transitioning to private practice. Within this dynamic arena, Ms. Weinbaum has proudly navigated appeals before all the revered Florida District Court of Appeals. She has worked on appellate matters in an eclectic array of domains,  including administrative, business and commercial law, civil matters, criminal cases, family law, foreclosure proceedings, and juvenile law. Notably, her appellate practice has contributed to the establishment of legal precedents that shape the course of jurisprudence. 

Florida legal practitioners have turned to Ms. Weinbaum when their cases reach the appellate level for her appellate insights and to handle the appellate matters.  Ms. Weinbaum has also generously lent her skills to the Public Defender’s Office in the Criminal Appeals Division and was previously entrusted with the role of conflict attorney for criminal appeals and juvenile appeals in the 17th Circuit from 2010 to 2014. 

Ms. Weinbaum’s Litigation Experience

Ms. Weinbaum’s legal acumen is enriched by her prior engagements, including a tenure as a judicial law clerk to a respected lower tribunal judge, who presided over administrative, civil, criminal, family, and juvenile matters.  She also is a former litigation attorney for a large private law firm, in which she represented financial institution clients in diverse legal arenas ranging from courtrooms to mediation settings. Her legal journey also encompasses invaluable experience as an intern under a Federal District Court Judge and a distinguished role as a law clerk within the civil litigation division of the Office of Attorney General of State of Maryland. 

Within the dynamic realm of Weinbaum P.A., Ms. Weinbaum has worked with Florida trial attorneys and individuals, professionals, executives, officers and businesses in a myriad of litigation scenarios and post-judgment matters in the lower courts. Ms. Weinbaum’s experience encompasses a wide range of substantive areas, including family law, paternity, domestic violence, business law, commercial law, contract law, torts, real estate law, employment law, foreclosure law, professional liability, criminal, administrative and more.

Ms. Weinbaum’s Education

Ms. Weinbaum attained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland, School of Law in 2005. Earlier, she distinguished herself with a cum laude graduation from Lafayette College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Economics in 1999.

Ms. Weinbaum’s legal reach extends across various jurisdiction including Maryland [admitted 2005 and inactive status since 2007], Florida [admitted in 2007], United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida [admitted in 2008], United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida [admitted in 2015] and U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit [admitted in 2023].
